Nashville interior designers you should be following on Instagram
If your job has you looking at Nashville-area homes day in and day out, you come to really appreciate well-done interior design that accentuates a property’s positives, and downplays the negatives.
Over the years, we’ve met and worked with a number of Nashville’s most talented interior designers, and gotten regular inspiration from their work. Our other outlet for home-decor inspiration: Instagram, of course.
As social media tools go, it’s a particularly efficient one for designers and artists, since it lets you throw captures of your work at interested eyes in easy, regular installments. And it’s a useful tool for appreciators of designers and artists, since it’s also so easy to find and keep up with creatives whose style suits yours.
Below, a few of our favorite Nashville home-design Instagram feeds, with borrowed ‘gram examples of why we feel they deserve steady double-taps.
@jldesigntn
JL Design, Nashville
We’ve developed a close relationship with JL Design leader Jessica Davis, and the images of her team’s work that you’ll see at @jldesigntn make it crystal clear why we admire her so much. Another cool thing about the JL feed: You see lots of in-process work, to get a sense for how home-design pros make their choices, and regular peeks at the team’s sources of inspiration, from shops and other designers to artists.
@casellainteriors
Casella Interiors, Nashville
The stunning interiors at Poston at the Park — a luxury condo community steps from Centennial Park — came courtesy of Nashville’s Casella Interiors, and their design more than matches the building’s high-end appeal. The Casella team has a knack for creative elegance in both residential and commercial spaces that we love dropping Instagram hearts on. Only gripe: just wish they would post more.
@hannahcrowell
Hannah Crowell, Crowell + CO Interiors, Nashville
Crowell & Co.’s namesake, Hannah Crowell, approaches home design with an intention of blending style and accessibility, clean lines and rough-hewn edges. You can see how that all comes together on her Instagram feed, a mix of finished designs, in-progress projects and bits of real life. If you’re not afraid of bold patterns, she might be your design match. (And if you recognize the last name, yes, country legend Rodney is her dad.)
@pencilandpaperco
Pencil and Paper Co., Nashville
Husband-and-wife design team Benjamin and Gen Sohr have a particularly deft hand with eclectic looks, like the colorful kitchen above. But their aesthetics are spot on overall, which you quickly see on their feed — everything from their brunch place settings to their Easter eggs are expertly arranged.
@providenceinteriors
Providence Interiors, Nashville
Cool thing about Nashville’s Providence Interiors: In addition to their interior design work, they also have a shop in Green Hills with a selection of home goods, from decor to lighting and antiques. (It’s at 2209 Bandywood Drive, Suite C, and you can find more at providenceinteriors.com.) Their Instagram feed gives us peeks at both, from cool pillows on shop shelves to completed client projects.
@savageinteriordesign
SAVAGE Interior Design, Nashville
Middle Tennessee native Jonathan Savage bounced around the world/country learning and working before coming home to Nashville to launch his interior design firm. And you definitely get a sense of movement and far-flung influence in the spaces he creates.
@andersondesignstudionashville
Anderson Design Studio, Nashville
The main standouts you’ll note from Nashville’s Anderson Design Studio: unique custom details, from finishes to furnishings. Company namesake Kathy Anderson has a particular knack for mixing natural textures (like weathered wood/stone) with sleeker and more modern touches.
@redohomeanddesign
Redo Home + Design, Nashville
We’re still living in a moment of really clean, bright interiors, and if that’s your aesthetic, Nashville’s Redo Home + Design excels at it, giving light and bright lots of life.
@thedecorologist
Kristie Barnett, The Decorologist, Nashville
Nashville’s Kristie Barnett, a.k.a. The Decorologist, is a blogger/writer as well as a home stager/designer, so she’s particularly forthcoming on social media with examples and inspiration. Color is a particular expertise, too, so if you’re trying to kickstart a paint decision, the Decorologist Instagram feed could definitely help — Barnett’s great about noting the paint colors in her ‘grams.
